Flyte is an open-source workflow orchestrator designed to simplify the process of building, managing, and deploying data and machine learning pipelines. Built for scalability and reproducibility, it leverages Kubernetes as its underlying platform. With Flyte, data and ML teams can build pipelines using the Python SDK and deploy them in both cloud and on-premise environments, facilitating distributed processing and optimizing resource usage. 

Why you should contribute

Hacktoberfest is a month-long open-source celebration as well as GitHub's largest contributor drive. It's a great chance to get involved with the open-source community, learn something new, and earn swag. No matter your expertise, you can be a part of it. 

If you’re wondering why you should contribute to Hacktoberfest and Flyte specifically, we’ve got you covered:  

1. You get to join an awesome open-source community. We have an active group of contributors, and are positive you’ll learn tons. Join our Slack to be part of the Flyte crew!
2. You’ll probably learn something new! There are many ways to help out, whether writing code, improving docs, writing a blog post or something that will surprise us all. 
3. You have the chance to get some awesome swag. Enough said! 

How to contribute

We created an issue to keep track of all the “hacktoberfest”-labeled issues. Here’s what you’ve to do to get the ball rolling:

1. Register any time between September 26 and October 31 on the Hacktoberfest site.
2. Pick any “hacktoberfest”-labeled issue.
3. If you’re ready to work on it, leave a comment on the issue and get it assigned to you.
4. Create a pull request and link it back to the issue. Once you’re comfortable with the process, feel free to contribute more! Also, create new issues and submit the concerning PRs if need be.
5. If you write a blog post or record a demo and want it reviewed by the Flyte team, let us know commenting on the issue.

Every contribution registered in the form will receive a prize, the more contributions you make, and the more significant the contribution, the greater the prize.

1. How do I get started with Flyte?
   Start with our docs if you’re new to Flyte. Then, join our Slack community and head over to the Hacktoberfest-2024 Slack channel in case you have any questions. And be sure to check out the Hacktoberfest welcome video below.

2. Do you have any tutorials?
   Definitely! Check out our user guide and tutorials.

3. When will I get my swag?
   We will send you your prizes after the event closes by post. Delivery is expected in early November.

4. This is all great. Anything else I should know? 
   Please adhere to the contribution guidelines and Hacktoberfest guidelines. If you’re new to GitHub and Open Source in general, refer to the resources recommended on the Hacktoberfest site.
